Land Kiting
First off, land boarding with a kite is a blast. When the wind is light you can whip out your mountain board and your trainer kite or small 4-line kite and just cruise on the beach, local grassy field or neighborhood ballpark.
Landboarding is a great way to apply the skills you learned with your trainer kite to using with a board without going into the water. In fact some kiting schools use landkiting in their lessons before taking the student into the water to make sure they have good fundamentals with kite control. Obviously, it is easier to relaunch a small kite with someone standing there on land then to teach a beginner how to water relaunch as they get "yarded"(dragged) through the water.
So if you have a trainer already, just go online to see if you can can find a good priced landboard that works for landboarding. Generally MBS and Ground Industries are the two main quality brands. (I like Ground Industries personally but just find one that fits your budget)
Overall you will be surprised how much fun you will have on a landboard even after you become an experienced kiteboarder. Just be aware that you have minimal resistance/friction on a landboard so you can pick up speed real fast and you don't need a big kite. Foils kites work great for landboarding, but you can always just use the inflatable kites you use in the water.
